you could see competitors paying boaters to go into the exclusion zone just to mess with them

or perhaps just someone wanting publicity golden palace style

lol yeah I'm sure that boater will be in trouble though. They probably thought they could get a great view from there, and were ignoring their radio when told to move out of the way. At least that's my guess.

Damn, wonder what that boat cost in total? Gotta be hella expensive to get ready to launch a rocket (into geostationary orbit no less) and then scrub it because some asshole wandered into the wrong area. Don't they have to remove all the fuel and then load it up again next time? Maybe they can set the owner up with a payment plan?

I dunno, I would "think" that there are pretty harsh penalties but I've never known anyone who took a boat into a Coast Guard exclusion zone and caused a 230' rocket launching into friggen space to be canceled.

Article about the boat that wandered into the exclusion zone. It was a commercial vessel and they should have been aware of the exclusion zone.

Pushing launch to Friday due to extreme high altitude wind shear. Hits like a sledgehammer when going up supersonic
