This will probably outdo the Star Wars sequels. Also, Mel Brooks has apparently been paying attention to the entertainment industry, so it will be something to have his humorous take on many possible modern events as well.
And of course, there will be many Jewish jokes just like the original.

The Empire Strikes Back was a really good sequel, but, I could See Spaceballs 2 topping it.

I was mainly referring to the sequel trilogy, not the direct sequel. It seems this Spaceballs is taking cues from The Force Awakens rather than Empire.

So, I would not be surprised if Han's death is somehow spoofed or referenced. Or all three's death are joked about. Or they don't die as the joke.

I adored this movie as a child and as I grew into adulthood the humor grew to new levels. I met my wife and turned her onto the movie and she loved it to. We then passed our love for this movie onto our two children who love it as much as we do.

Brooks better not fuck this up like Disney did with the SW franchise.

It's hard to fuck it up because Brooks is the original creator. So the underlying framework of his jokes, and process of brainstorming that makes those jokes, are still the same.
Star Wars lost part of its edge because the loremaker left. Lucas without help doesn't make great movies, but reading Lucas's concepts makes one realize it's still "Star Wars".

This movie will offend by overtly attempting not to offend. I'm not just setting the bar low for this sequel, I'm burying it.

The last time Mel Brooks wrote or directed anything was over 30 years ago. He's listed as a producer on this movie which means his input could essentially be zero. He'll be 101 years old when this movie releases. There's no chance a Mel Brooks style movie could be made today. This movie (like many sequels made today) is banking on nostalgia to get people into theaters.

The actors, characters, and setting all return. The comedy will not.

Spaceballs is my fave Mel Brooks. Of course, I'll watch S2.
