Space Oddity, recorded by Commander Chris Hadfield on the International Space Station

was just coming here to post this

seriously the most bad ass thing i've seen in a long time

I wonder if David Bowie, in 1969, had any idea that 40 years later some guy in a space station would make a DIY music video covering his song and then post it on Youtube for millions to see.

In HD no less.

We need people like him to make space cool and get people dreaming again about going to the stars. I hope NASA and ESA realize the benefits of having such a charismatic commander in space. This video was awesome.

hadfeld is coming back to earth in less than 24 hours

Awesome video.. I posted it on facebook and not one person liked it.. stupid ass people. If I posted a worldstarhiphop video they'd all go nuts..

I give up on the human race

For all the people who complain about tax dollars... he's canadian and this was clearly filmed by the CSA ASC. So it is both badass and you can't blame NASA for it.

No.

NASA still helped fund the construction of the ISS as a space station, not a music studio.

Yes yes, it's "badass"...a 720p (in this day and age?) video of a guy lipsyncing, some great shots of Earth, neither of which I can't already find on Youtube.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for space exploration, science, riding around in pressurized cans of air above the atmosphere...but WTF? if you've got the balls to ride up into space...sing the damn song yourself.

Like I said, your tax dollars at work.
