Nice.

Right at the half-way point of the vid it looked like you could see the trail left by the shuttle at launch. It's only there for a few seconds.

I honestly didnt think they reused them, i figured they just burned up on re-entry.

They're still inside the atmosphere when they're released.

Ok, so re-entry was the wrong term, i thought they burned up in the atmosphere from the extreme friction/heat.

It is impossible to generate enough heat to burn up while still in the atmosphere because you cannot go fast enough on gravity alone, see terminal velocity.

Yup, makes sense.

Too bad they skipped the good part (the part where it's really flying toward land and you get to experience it "falling").

pretty awesome. Quite a striking contrast between the beginning (falling back into the dense atmosphere) and the end (waves hitting the sides).

That was really cool, i thought it was amazing that they landed so close together after a ~50 mile fall.

yeah, seriously ... the other booser was farther at the separation than on the landing. Amazing.

Looked like only part edited was when the shoots deploy and it jerks upward.

Nice vid but what a rip-off! SRBs are what? Aluminium cans that hold solid rocket fuel? I bet you anything that it costs more to recover the damned things in the middle of the ocean (boat, fuel for boat, crew, crew salaries, etc.) than it does to build two SRBs!

There is a video somewhere of a free fall from 3000ft or something. It was really cool to watch since it's from start to finish. And by finish I mean hit the ground going 200MPH.

Did you see the aliens??? about 3.23 minutes into it.

I expected the rockets to spin faster. Cool vid.

I just watched this with Nine Inch Nail's "Right where it belongs" playing on my MP3 player. Talk about one hell of a combo (the song ended as the rocket's parachute settled on the water) 🙂
