Installed sp3 for xp. Once the computer reboot, it just did a continuous loop. So I formatted my HD and tried to reinstalled XP. Half way through install I get a message:

Blue Screen: BIOS is not fully ACPI compliant, etc.

So I can't reinstall windows. Why does this message come up if the whole HD was formatted again? Can I flash a new BIOS? DL from another computer and hope it reads the disk? Thanx.

Check the motherboard manufacture's web site for the latest bios update and how to perform the update.

I have an A8N32SLI asus mobo. The BIOS I have is 1301. They newest are 1401. I put each one on a cd. I reboot my computer and hit alt-F2. The computer says, "reading file a8n32sli.rom" then says "file not found on cd-rom!" I don't know what else to do. Did my mobo go out all of a sudden? Why after installing sp3? Can I post a pic of my blue screen? How?

That motherboard has known issues with SP3 that MS has not been able to resolve for people. The error you received about bios not acpi compliant is the message that is seen most frequently. It seems to have some relationship to the USB on the motherboard.
