SP2 Messed My Computer Up! Help Please!

Hello,
I have one of those prescot mobo's that will not boot because I installed SP2. I did some research and found out why this was happening so i figured I would just remove it. Well, I found many sites that said to just disable the L1 and L2 cache to get XP to boot. The problem is I don't have this option in my bios so what am I supposed to do know. I can't boot in safe mode either. My motherboard is an ECS 865PE-A any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

First borrow someone else's computer and download the most recent BIOS for your motherboard onto a floppy. Then, read this link down to "Work Arounds" such that you will start Win XP in its recovery console by using the XP OS disk in your CDROM. First go into your BIOS and set up your CDROM as the first boot device. Then follow the directions in the link:

The link shows other options for you that may also work.
Good luck

Oh, when you download the latest BIOS, be sure to also download the BIOS Flash program with it since you may be performing the task in DOS. If your friend has a Windows 98 boot disk, then use that if your new Flash program will run under DOS, which they all used to. That would be much easier.
