I was repairing an SP2 system with a XPPro disc, and everything was going just fine..

Then I upgraded to SP2, and the mouse stopped working.

It's powered (lit up and functioning) just fine BEFORE I get into windows.

Once I get to windows, the device shuts off and (obviously) won't work.

ANy ideas?

Did you try to plug it into different USB? check your mouse driver, there might not be SP2 compatible.

yeah... I tried plugging into all the USB ports.

It's just a generic dell mouse, so I figure it uses the normal MS drivers.

I'm going to go into safe mode and 're-init' all of the USB controller drivers... see if that works.

*FIXED*

I ended up booting in safe mode and deleting all the USB hosts... so they had to re-init on boot.
