SP2 for WPA

I am setting up the wireless and have an old (PIII) laptop running XPHome. I cannot connect when I have WPA on and was wandering if SP2 is required or is there a patch or something else I need.

Regular WPA does not need SP2. WPA-AES (WPA2) does.

SP2 is the same for Home and Pro and it free, so there is No reason to upgrade even if you just have regular WPA.

i don't think by default, SP2 supports WPA2. i've always needed this update to get it working.
