sp2 download slowdown

my downloads speeds are down right now. i used to get over 600kbps on good servers now im down around 400kbps.i thought it was my isp but now i think its xp sp2 because when downloading at full speed with a torrent i can still download at 350kbps in firefox so both download at around 300 to 400kbps at the same time but i can never get one to get above 400kbps buy itself.

any idea what it could be?

It could be related to xp sp2 because they set 10 connection(per second as well iirc) on the tcp/ip where as it used to be unlimited. the reason for that is before there was a more of a chance for denial of service attacks.

No, it couldn't be related. The limit is on *uncompleted* connectoins (e.g. connections to hosts which do not exist). Since the poster is obviously connected to a remote host, this change has nothing to do with it.

Talk about FUD. You need to learn what you're talking about or just shut-up. This has absolutly nothing to do with existing established tcp connections.
