SP2 and WMP 9,10

ok i finally updated to SP2 on my main comp, and now WMP wont open i can double click on it and nothing happens

so i thought mabye if I install WMP 10 it will fix it, installed and nope still not working

anyone ele expirence this or know of a fix for it?

search would probably answer this, but it's likely the firewall / security. Enable access for WMP and try again.

ahh i fixed it stupid configureation wasent poping up like it was supposed to

3 restarts fixed that now it works

i use winamp for mp3s i only use WMP in classic mode for watching videos i download from AT because it opens fast and is easy to use

I use Zoom Player to watch everything Else

WMP 9 and 10 still mess up on my notebook with SP2 because of the hardware DEP. :(

Suddenly media I've had for years might be infected with malicious logic, and even though Norton AV says everything is fine, WMP and Explorer.exe decide to crash to protect my computer from this phantom logic.

Probably due to the DivX codec, that's a known issue between it and XP SP2.

Probably due to the DivX codec, that's a known issue between it and XP SP2.

Doesn't explain why XviD movies, WMA, Ogg, and WMA had issues though.
