Putting together a system out of some of my old parts & some other peoples parts. Had problems from the start in the boot as I'd get cmos checksum error-loading defaults after I'd set up the bios & now its every boot. The first time I got w98se on I had numerous freezes and same during driver installs that caused corruptions, so wiped c drive & reformatted, tried to install. Many more freezes during w98se install. Now I cant even move the mouse an inch before it freezes. Moved the micron stick of memory to another slot and spun the battery around. Any ideas?

I was hoping battery and not memory. What else?

Checksum error means that the BIOS may be corrupted.

Can you try re-flashing the BIOS with the current revision?

It seems to have gone away but I will download the last bios which is the one in there just in case of more problems. I want to sort it right out as I hope to sell it with a fast C2 at 900mz.
