OK, I finally got rid of my BX board with PL adapter. (The new PL adapter is nice with voltage adjustments - I just got my new 1.2Ghz Tually Celeron from a PowerLeap RMA to 1.5Ghz at stock voltage on the BX board).
My new Soyo MB cost only $40 and is supposed to support the 1.2Ghz Tualatin Celeron. However, it "sees" my CPU as a 350Mhz PIII (100FSB x 3.5).
I have cleared the CMOS several times (the date and time was already set on the MB). Doesn't matter. I can "save" to CMOS but it always reverts to a 350Mhz P3. 🙁
In desperation, I put my old PIII 600e in and voila - no problem - Instant recognition (I can even O/C it).
What Gives? What am I missing (besides my brains)?
