Everytime I exit the bios, the system hangs, repeating a "bee boop, bee boop" until I restart the system. It always cold boots OK, and restarts OK, it's just when I exit the bios I am greeted with the annoying "Bee boop". Any ideas or answers out there? Bios version 6BA42BA3 and Highpoint driver Version 1.25 IBM 13.5 Gig HD, 7,200 RPM ATA 66,
GeForce2 GTS, Linksys LAN, Soundblaster X-Gamer.

Thanks,

Is the sound coming from your speaker? If so, it might be the fan alarm that might be causing the siren-type alarm. You can check it by opening the case and see if all the mobo-powered fans are spinning while your in the bios.

Yes, the beeps are coming from the PC speaker. I don't think it is a high temp alarm, but I will check on that. I don't have any info on beep codes, so I don't know what the machine is trying to tell me.

Ok,

One other item, I have never cleared CMOS. I have flashed BIOS twice and swapped a PIII 450 with a PIII 700. Should I clear CMOS?

Check your temp readings. I had that problem on my old 6BA+III when I used an Asus slocket that didn't support reading the temp from Intel's on-die thermistor. Worked when I changed the slocket.
