Soyo SY-6VBA-133 + HardWare Doctor = CPU fan turns off - WTF???

GeoffS

Lifer
- Win98
- BIOS flashed with latest version (VBAB)
- Downloaded the Hardware Doctor software (monitors temperatures, fan speeds, etc) from Soyo.
- P3-600E
- ThermalTake Slot1 cooler

CPU fan seems to run just fine, until I start up the Hardware Doctor software, and then it turns off. If I then restart Win98, the fan comes back on, and seems to stay on as long as I don't fire up Hardware Doctor.

Anyone else have this happen to them?

I never used HW doctor...try using motherboard monitor....i never had any problems with motherboard monitor...excellent program too

Geoffs, Motherboard Monitor is great, if it reads your board correctly, it's got to be a setting either in the monior settings for shutting down the fan, or in Power management corresponding to the monitor,( in bios ).
