Hi all!

I was wondering what forum members and Anandtech staff think about the new Canterwood from Soyo. I'd be interested in seeing a head-to-head between the Soyo and the Abit IC7-G (or even better, the Abit IC7-MAX3!).

Here's the link to the Soyo product page:

Thanks, and keep up the great work!!

We took a look at the P4I875P Dragon 2 Platinum as part of the June 2003 i865PE/i875P motherboard roundup.

While the board is generally very good, we noted a couple of issues; the BIOS layout is very disorganised, and the MCH heatsink is right up against the processor heatsink bracket, meaning that non-standard size processor heatsink/fan units may have troubles fitting.

I installed a Zalman CNPS-7000AlCu today with no clearance issues at all. Fan is set at lowest speed (~1350) and cpu is running at 45C. Also running a Zalman Zm80C-Hp on a GF4ti4200 128/8x. Chassis is at 33C. In a Antec Sonata case, PC is VERY quiet.

One thing about this mobo is that the CPU temp seems to stay around the 45C. I've seen it go as low as 43C at idle and as high as 47C running Prime95. The case temp seem rather high when playing games or doing something else CPU intensive. The north bridge does put out a lot of heat.
