I just installed this board and when I go to check my AGP status its says its disabled. Does anyone know how to fix this with this board?

Ahh, someone who actually has a P4I Fire Dragon?

Other than the problem with the AGP that you are experiencing, how do you like the board?

In the bios, does it offer CPU/Memory ratios (1:1, 3:4, 4:3, etc)?

I have been contemplating ordering this board, but haven't seen any real reviews of it. Nice to see someone who finally has it... Have you tried overclocking it yet?

Since I just got it I cant say I like it till I get this problem fixed. Kinda sucks to see my benchmarks fall going from a P3 1 gig to a P4 2. gig.

Where are you checking the AGP status from? What operating system are you running? What type of video card do you have?

Ok no worries I got it fixed had to reinstall the mobo drivers. AGP status is fine. I have a Leadtek G3 and under info it shows AGP status.

Cool :)

Did you happen to have a chance to see if the memory timings could be adjusted in the bios (1:1, 3:4)?

What speed processor you running?

I didnt bother to look at CAS timings since its set at Auto. And i am running a 2 gig Northbridge Chip.

Nope dont have that program either. I did run 3DMark2001 and got 7126 which seems low, but then again nothing is overclocked on my system. I did see a review about this mobo here at Anandtech and it got 3rd behind the MSI and the Gigabyte board.

it only got 3rd because he thought that it needed a 3rd dimm slot which is a waste on the 845D motherboards unless you have single sided ddr dimms. The Gigabyte board that he rated #1 has been a waste in the overclocking department with numerous reboot issues.

if you want SiSoft Sandra (its a complete benchmark program), go to SiSoft Sandra web page and you can D/L the program. Its a pretty good measure of how your system is performing.

I am not really happy with my 3DMark score either. The thing is I got my ram from frys along with the mobo cpu combo and I think its just generic ram. I have looked at other systems beating mine in benching and they have less cpu power then me. But alot of them also have the Ti G3 cards and some overclocking. But hey it does do very well playing Wolfenstein so i cant really complain about it. As for the Mobo itself its pretty bithen looking done in red with blue PCI slots.

Make sure your ram is set to DDR266 (PC2100) in the bios. Its a good bet that its at DDR200 (PC1600) speed. I have a P4B266 and I really wanted the Fire Dragon, but no one had any reviews on it except Anands cryptic review! With my Asus and 1.8A, I have it running at 2379 @ 132 FSB with the RAM timings set to 3:4 (352 mhz effective). My ram scores with it set to 1:1 (pc2100) was somewhere around 1900/1900 which I wasn't happy with (I have Crucial PC2100 256mbx2). The Asus board doesn't allow you to run the memory at 3:4 with anything over 133 FSB. So I had to stick wth 132 FSB at 3:4. My memory scores now are in the 2600/2600 range. I still like the Fire Dragon though! That is one bad looking motherboard... Just wish I knew if the Fire Dragon offered memory timings (3:4) and PCi/AGP dividers at 66/33 when the bus is ran at 133...

Are the readings for the mobo temps accurate with Sisandra cause it says my mobo is running too hot, as high as 174 f?

they are normally right on track. What does the ITE program say its running? What about the BIOS?

Look under the system summary and tell me what your RAM timings are (2x what speed)....

Bios only shows cpu temp not mobo temp. The cpu temp is fine and the system doesnt lock or crash so I am thinking its not reading the mobo temp right. As for the RAM timings its at 2x 133 for 266.

Thats strange because according to the manual, it shows cpu and system temperatures from within the bios.

You are running at stock speeds so your memory is going to run at the default 266. If you were to up the bus speeds, you would get greater memory scores and much better bandwidth (remember when the pentium III went from 100 to 133 bus speeds the big increase in bandwidth?)...

Right now im not going to overclock it, maybe later I might but as for now their arent too many games I cant run with 2 gigs.
