ok i have a soyo sy6vba133
problem: stuck where it says "verifying DMI pool data"
celeron 500@623...stock fan
32 pc100 generic ram(also swapped with many other brands too)
ati video card
floppy drive
thats all i have connected...

i was doing a check what hardware was conflicting...changed video card also
all other things have been disconnected from the board..while i was performing tests...
the system still seems to hang there...no matter what u do or change

i cleard cmos also...but i cleard it a couple times with ATX power still connected..can this be the problem...
unclocked cpu...
any suggestions?
 
The only time I've had this problem come up....the mobo was bad. Not sure if this is your problem, there's not much you can do that you haven't already tried. Bad news when you can't even post to the point of booting to a floppy.

Only thing left...did you try setting the BIOS to defaults? Go into bios, set it to defaults and pray.

I would try removing the battery for a good while, maybe an hour. Hekpfully this would reset your bios setttings.

I would just then plug in battery, the video card, 1 stick of ram, and CPU and see if you can get anything going with that.
 
I have seen a corrupted fat table on the hard drive do this. Try unplugging the data cable from the drives, leaving only the floppy with a bootable disk inside. Make sure you have the bios set to boot from A:
