Hello..... BUMP for a nice guy........... Anyways I just installed a 1700 Tbred in my 266A Dragon and nothing happens............. No boot no nothing on power up............
Ploped in the old XP1600 and it runs fine.....
I then flashed theBios rev 0107 as I recall and this one is supposed to support Tbred's......... Still nothing.. I'm about to go back to the 1600 any ideas?

aznsurfer: Soyo CPU-support chart seems to say it maxes at a 2100+ AthlonXP of either the Thoroughbred or Palomino varieties. Hope that helps! :D

FlapJack: One of the Soyo boards' quirks is that they often refuse to POST unless the motherboard is getting RPM readings on the CPU_FAN header. By any chance, did you not have a RPM-signalling fan plugged into the CPUFAN1 header up at the top of the DIMM slots when you were trying out the Tbird? Refer to pages 15 and 16 of the manual, they talk about the Fan-Off Control and how to override it (hold down Insert key while powering on) so you can disable it in BIOS if you want.

Also, if you get the heatsink reversed by accident, the CPU will overheat very quickly and probably cause the board to lock up before it can even put up the POST screen. Good luck!
