Soyo KT400 & XP2100+ Problem...

I just recently purchased a Soyo KT400 Dragon Ultra (Black) motherboard and XP2100+ CPU and I'm having a slight problem. Everything works well, but WindowsXP reports the processor running at only 846MHz. Everything is noticeably slower than when I had an XP1900+ in the system.

Setup:
Soyo KT400 Dragon Ultra (Black) (latest BIOS revision)
Athlon XP2100+ CPU
512MB Samsung PC2700 DDR

In the BIOS, I have the frequency set to 133MHz, and the multiplier at 13X. The BIOS and WindowsXP both identify the CPU as a 2100+, but for some reason, it only clocks at 864-866MHz. Any ideas on what's going on?

Hi I don't have the answer to your question, but could you please tell me the difference between the SOYO platium and black KT400 boards?
Thank You🙂

how are you checking the reported speed?

www.h-oda.com
go there and download a program called wcpuid (unless you are already using that 😉)

in there you will be able to check pretty much everything
see if there are any abnormalities and report back 🙂
