I have two systems, both w/ Athlon 1200/200, MB soyo k7vta-b (bios v. 2aa3), 256Mb NEC PC133 memory.
System 1: 2 HD 30Gb quantum fireball lct-20 (each one w/ 1 OS W2k-sp2 and ME), Voodoo 3 3000 16Mb AGP video board, 56k lucent winmodem and a Genius lan card, HP9100 CD writer.
System 2: 1 HD 30Gb quantum fireball lct-20 (ME), ASUS TNT2-m64 vanta 16Mb AGP video board, 56k lucent winmodem, LG DVD.
The problem is: both systems are hanging up too much. They are VERY, VERY , VERY unstable....
In w2k, the system sometimes can't even boot-up, other times I get some blue screen and there are times when I get application errors (explorer, Iexplorer, etc).
Tried many solutions, but none has effect:
- changed video board, modem and lan;
- changed memory (with others known good);
- format the HD and reinstalled both OS;
- changed BIOS settings (fail safe, decreased Vcore in 0,025 volts(according to soyo FAQ), tried all RAM related options);
- the CPU temp is not a factor because some times the system hangs in low temps and other times in higher temp.
Now I must ask : what the hell is the problem ????????????
Is it a MB problem ??? Maybe CPU ???
The fact is: two systems, in exactly equal shape (excluding the cases), w/ the same prob.
Anyone experienced a similar problem ????
I'm in need of any kind of help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thx.
