I have the SOYO K7V Dragon. On its product page it says "Supports AMD Socket-A type Processors (including Duron & Athlon & XP CPUs) up to 1700+ MHz".

Does this mean I can only put a maximum of an Athlon XP 1700+, or can I put the latest and greatest XP in, like the 2200?

Thanks.

Now you can get it up to 2100 (see the new posting at the same link). I hope this isn't the limit. Anybody know if there are any plans on going any higher for these older (lol) boards.

Nah, that's for the Dragon Plus, I only have the Dragon. The Dragon plus is the one that comes with the card reader, right? I don't have that one.

Plus or not, i think BIOS options won't change much.

It should support upto 2100+ minimum.

2200+ is thoroughbred A and 2400 and 2600+ are thoroughbred B. It is to be seen whether the older boards will support these. I think they should and updated Bioses will be provided by the manufacturers.

As to the Barton, I guess only the KT333 and higher boards will support them.
