i am another dragon user.

quite a nice board so far, especially after reading thru the "SOYO Dragon Thread.." and getting some better insight on this product.

my problem is that i can run the board fine with 1 small problem. it won't cold boot when i have drives on the ide channels. i have to unplug them from ide1 & 2 or it wont boot. then i must enter bios and redetect them.

only drives on the board are a maxtor 15g and an ibm 13g deskstar, master/slave respectively on ide1. and a creative 52x cdrom on ide2.

ironing out some finer details today like modding my swiftech 462 to fit on the socket, and some more fan arrangments, but this drive issue really puts a damper on things.

any idea or suggestions?

thanks

I had a similar cold boot problem with my Dragon which is one of the reasons it's going back when my second 8K7A+ comes in. If the bios was set to 133mhz mode, it would not cold boot. I needed to clear the CMOS everytime it was shut off.. I never tried booting without a HD attached though... It's a pretty nice board for a casual user, but it's performance left me unimpressed. I would love to see this exact same board with the AMD 761 chipset instead....

same no cold boot problem?

i'd hate to go back into the RMA thing, i just went thru that with 4 epox 8k7a boards.
