well, i put together my computer and i can't figure out why my computer won't work correctly. i'm running a soyo dragon plus, enermax 350w powersupply, thermoengine hsf for the XP 1600 processor, visiontek gf2 gts vid.card, and pioneer dvd, and crucial pc2100 256mb ddr ram. i put in 1 stick of ram and my video card, dvd, floppy, hd, barebones stuff. it booted fine, but once i get into WinXP, it either lags horribly, freezes when i open up a web brower, won't shut down, won't let me click on anything on the task bar, or all of the above. i've done everything i could think of, reassembled about a million times. i don't know if it's the OS, board, processor, or harddrive. any suggestions? thanks.

my friend has a somewhat different problem with his dragon and XP. it won't even install XP. every other OS we tried worked fine (98, ME, 2000).

This is common with the old bios. It didn't seem to like XP at all and was a bit unstable with 9x as well. Update the bios with the new one from the Soyo website. It seems to fix most of the problems.

I sorted out all my Dragon problems easily after reading through some old help threads on the Soyo motherboard forum at www.amdmb.com
