Soyo Dragon OnBoard Ethernet and DSL

I have the Soyo K7V Dragon and the on board ethernet (VIA Ethernet) seems to conflict with my DSL gateway (Telecity DSL Gateway -- aka DirectTV Broadband DSL). My settings for the DSL are entirely correct so it seems to me there must be something I have overlooked or is this a problem on the Dragons? My system is:

Tbird 1.4/266
Crucial 768MB ECC DDR
SB Audigy MP3+
MSI GeForce 2 Pro 64MB DDR
IBM Deskstar 60GB HD
Plextor 24/10/40 CDRW
Pioneer 16/40 DVD

As a temporary fix I am running the DSL via the USB but I really need to get this working and don't want to to the PCI card route unless that is my only option. The settings seem to be correct as I tried the same exact settings as required on my K6-300 and it runs fine on the Netgear 10/100 NIC.

Please help!

What OS are you using,

Windows 98 might just require running winipcfg from the RUN (command prompt). click on Release all, then click renew all. That might work, but other than that without knowing more....

You might also try dropping in to DSL reports and asking in the right Forum there. Lots of ISP techies hang out there and answer questions that somwhat knowledgeable people ask.

OS is Win2K. I checked for perhaps an updated driver from Via but I have the most recent. I'll check out dslreports.com as well.

Also, the Ethernet will work but it is intermittent and painfully slow if it does work.

Thanks.
