I have a system built around a Soyo Dragon Mainboard. Everything works fine except I cannot record anything using the microphone input. I have installed the latest drivers. Using the CMedia Mixer program, I can hear a low thump sound when I enable/disable the microphone input, and I can hear a thump sound when I disconnect the microphone from the mainboard input, so I suspect that the connection is live. Does the Soyo require a specific type of mic?

Please indicate the type/model of mic that you have successfully used with this board.

Some more information:
I tried using two microphones with this system with a computer speaker system that accepts Mic In and Line In. Both mics did not work in the Mic In input, but did work when used with the Line In input. Maybe the mics do not provide an output voltage that is high enough for the audio subsystem to detect?

Thx in advance

SOLUTION: Used a cheap lapel mic (you know the ones that have a holder that can be attached to the monitor. This one is amplified. Costs around $9). Voila. Mic input works fine.
