Anyone know what the minimum allowable RPM reading for the CPUFAN1 header needs to be?

I live in an hot-as-hell apartment with no air conditioning and thin walls/floors.
I bought an Alpha PAL 8045 & a Vantec 80MM Stealth.
I thought they'd work well together considering my Soyo Dragon +'s FOC feature requires an RPM signal via the CPUFAN1 header.
I turned away from two-wire-tailed Panaflo fans (because that was all that I could find) and Papst fans (3-wire tail, but too expensive).
I installed my HSF combo lastnight
I turned my box on only to hear the dreaded long beeping noise that preempts the enivtable shutdown.
I tried it again to make sure; same thing.
I bypassed the FOC feature by holding down <Insert> (as stated in the manual); system booted up fine.
I went into BIOS; CPU fan RPM shows 20xx RPM.
I want to use the FOC feature because it's there & I paid for it (although so far I haven't experienced a single fan failure).
I think I just jinxed myself.
I am now running fine and quieter but if I can help it, I would not like to go on like this.

I was able to find 3-wire-tailed Panaflo fans at a computer show this past weekend for $1.99 each.
I will try those as soon as I get a chance to translate the model number (0L13AN-1BX & FBA08A12M) and find out what the RPM on these fans are.

If you've made it this far, thanks for taking the time out & giving a sh!t.

Later.

edit: oops, I got confused about which fan you ended up with

Panaflo fans don't have RPM signals. The third wire in the connector gives a "rotor-lock" signal on Panaflos. If you don't mind giving up RPM readings, $1.99 is certainly a good price for the fan you saw, which is this one.

More than you ever wanted to know about Panasonic Panaflo fans :D

As far as the actual question... educated guess is that your mobo expects to see at least 2200rpm.
