I ordered this new board a few days ago and when it arrived i was excited as hell to get it hooked up.
I had some ddr memory laying around from another system and decided to put it into the new comp.
At first the 1.0 ghz athlon system with 256mb ddr pc2100 booted up fine and i set the bios for 133mhz fsb and i got it to run at 1266mhz (9.5*133)
I then installed winxp and all was good.
For some reason winxp seemed to run really slow and i figured i had set some of the memory timings wrong.
I went in and loaded the fail safe settings.
When i booted the board back up again the mofo listed the ram as 128mb dimm?!!?!?
i though i might have again set something wrong. so i loaded the failsafe's again.
no go. i then swithced the slots around a few times, yet again it was listing the 256mb dimm as 128 mb dimm.
at this point in time i felt like throwing the board out the window until i realized i paid $160 for it. i wanted to insure the dimm was not FFUUCCKKEDD though so i put it into my msi kt266 board.
same freaking story it was now listing the dimm as 128. i had just taken it out of that system and it listed it as 256mb.
no i cant even get the board to boot properly. its pissing me off to no end.
so if anyone has experience anything like this let me know also anyone that is really familiar with the timing setting for the memory on this board please respond!
