Soyo 6BA+IV, with the latest BIOS. Does it support PIII 733 MHX slot 1?

I bought this mobo because the seller told me that it does support this chip, but I can't find anywhere in the Soyo site that this is true and i don't want to install it until I'm sure about it.
Any help on this matter is greatly apprecited, thanks.😉

The +IV is a BX board. It doesn't officially support the 133Mhz bus of that processor. If you have good 133Mhz RAM and your AGP video card will do ~100Mhz you'll be ok. But sometimes it is kind of a stretch. In other words, no guarantees.

Good Luck.

RGN, I have good RAM, and my video is an ATI Rage Pro, AGP with 32 RAM, but how do I know about the 100 MHX in the video?

Really you won't know until you try it. I don't know if a ATI Rage pro will do it. My guess would be no... But that's only a guess.

As far as the board supporting that chip? Yes it will function. The board should not fry the chip or anything. You just might have stability probs (because of afore mentioned issues).

I have the +100...same MB with the ATA100 Highpoint controller...running a PIII-550@760MHz (5.5x138) so you should be ok. At a 133MHz FSB your AGP is running at 89MHz. The +III, +IV, and the +100 are all good stable overclockers.
