Soyo 645D Dragon Lite RAID failure?

Hey guys... Strange things going on with my Soyo 645D Dragon Lite... I'm raiding (stripe) two 80 GB hard drives (Seagate Barracuda IV & Western Digital 8MB Cache models) and quite frequently, it seems the RAID controller gives up for a second, throwing Win XP into a fit. The error log says the Highpoint controller didn't respond within the Timeout alotted... Any ideas?

I already tried to change the cables, no help...

System is a P4-1.8A, DDR333 RAM, ATI Radeon 8500, Santa Cruz, Firewire card...
