Soyo 24 inch pearl

I'm looking for a 24inch for gaming. I found a decent deal on a Soyo pearl 24 inch, but I can't any reviews good or bad about. I was just wonder if it was worth the money, or should I spend a bit more. it's 299$ at microcenter w/MIR.

yeah, I think it's a TN, but it has a decent viewing angle

don't believe inflated viewing angles for TN panels. there are a couple at newegg like that too and people say that they are not any better than other TN panels.

not very bright, every one I've dealt with has had at least a dead pixel, and the whole thing is chunky thick.

I have the older Soyo with the p-mva panel and it's perfect, except for the wide bezel, but that's unnoticeable with the lights off.

I'd say with the 178/178 viewing angles and claimed 16.7mil colors, it should be a *VA panel. Damn fine price if so.

It's a TN panel though because of the 2ms response time, which is beyond any VA panel. The 26" has the same specs and is also a TN panel. Their other 24" is a P-MVA panel with 170/160 viewing angles (weird cuz it should be more like 176/176 for MVA) and 6ms response time.

yeah, I saw it at micro center and from an angle it look good, but i wasn't sure. but 299$ is making it tempting.

one of our guys is crazy about how he put all the monitors up on the display wall. and that poor soyo looks pathetic next to the acer and I'm going to say viewsonic (?). and he makes it a habbit to adjust them every single day and make sure they look thier best.

Office Max currently has the Soyo 24" for $280. Just make sure to get the 6ms one over the speedier 3ms if you want a P-MVA panel, 3ms is TN.

Have the older Soyo as well, and it's been awesome. I would recommend the older model at OfficeMax, if it's still available. As someone said, TN monitors aren't all that bad, until they are sitting next to an *VA panel, and then you can tell the difference. This one may be an 8-bit TN panel (they do make those) in which case it wouldn't be too bad.
