Hey all. 2007 was a rough year for me and my family. Except for my brother, literally every single person in my family came down with some sort of odd health problem. What was mine you ask? Well, ~ 2.5 weeks after eating a steak dinner at my mother in laws house, I came down with Guillain Barre Syndrome (campylobacter, which lives in certain red meat, is a known trigger for the disease). The disease basically caused me to (temporarily) lose all sensation in my extremities. It also causes extreme fatigue (I literally slept 17 hours a day for about 2 months straight). As a result, I was physically not able to excercise for the better part of 8 months. Heck, I could barely walk for more than half of that.

Anyways, to make a long story short, I am now in the worst shape of my life. it is extremely frustrating to be in this condition, as I was at one point a pretty good athlete. That said, now that I have pretty much fully recovered from GBS (except for minor tingling in my fingertips and some random tremors in my hands), I am heading back into the gym. Even though I missed out on the AT fitness competition, I plan to use this forum as motivation. I'll post pics at random times, my daily workouts, and my daily diet for all to see. Feel free to comment either positively or negatively, as either will motivate me even more to succeed.

Soxfan's Workout Log (exercises are not reported in order in which they were performed)

01/02/2008 (6'2, 220lbs)

Workout time: ~1 hour

3x10 Flat Benchpress 145 lbs
3x10 Incline Benchpress 100lbs
3x12 compound shoulder exercises (not sure what to call these, they are essentially 4 exercises 12 reps each performed back to back with light weight (I have a problem with my right shoulder/arm) 12.5 lbs
3x10 bicep curls 30lbs
3x10 skullcrushers 60lbs
3x10 bench dips (feet on floor, legs straight out, dips using flat bench)

3x10 squats 245/285/315 (Not sure why I did this today. Probably because my legs are freakishly stronger than the rest of my body, making squats, deadlifts, and leg press my favorite exercises)

3x15 compound crunches (1 set = 15 reps middle, 15 reps right and left oblique each)
3x30s plank (pilates is great)
