Help me out here. What's up with the lingo?

Not much, really.

A "swig" is when you take a dring of something. A "swaller" can be the same thing, or a bird....depends on the context. ;)

Well, i was raised in West Virginia....

Swig - Means a quick drink. Just enough to wet your mouth
Swaller - Is a bit more than a swig. An actual healthy amount of fluid that as you drink you swallow (aka swaller).

That's what it means to me.

I'm a Southerner so I can make fun of them ;) It's all in good humor.

A swaller is a gulp.

Then what does this mean.....

"I took a lil' swig of Tequila and swallered someone's fishin' bait they done left in the bottom."

Southerners cannot speak properly, but they know how to have fun.

Lived in Nashville all my life and couldn't tell you what either meant. Not many people around here speak the normal southern lingo.

The last words spoken by, and sometimes heard by, some true Rednecks -

"Hey, Billy Bob, hold my beer and watch this!!"

:D
