I'm sure they taped out but there's no way we are getting 28nm cards this year. TSMC does not give ANYBODY* reason to trust their ability to deliver.

*except their CEO who keeps on saying they are doing a great job etc etc.

I wonder why haven't amd and nvidia signed contracts with global foundries yet, seeing how tscm provides such a poor service to their partners these days.

Maybe they sell cheaper wafers or something...

There are rumours that nV had Kepler samples months ago as well.

I am excited for 28nm......this node has seen all it can see......

The Radeon 4770 launched almost two years ago (April 09). Here we are today, GPU's are still built on that same process. It just seems like sooooo long ago when the 4770 launched.

Semi-bold (semi-accurate maybe? ;)) prediction: AMD and NV will both stop using tsmc after 28nm. Not sure where NV will go, but a strategic partnership with intel is a good option for them. Probably would have already happened if JHH didn't have to be the alpha male.

nV is supposedly using GF for Tegra (if you believe the same "source" as the OP ). If TSMC didn't have it's act together for 28nm, you can bet they would look real hard at using GF for more.

Yea I guess when there are things catching fire and coming with factory-installed warranty-disabling switches, it is time to start looking to the future :p

TSMC set us all back at least 12 months.

I like my Radeon 4770's, they pack so much performance in a very cool quiet design. my powercolor radeon 4770 is a joy to use thanks to it's PCS cooling which is wicked. :)

So far I have a sapphire 4770, powercolor 4770 and 2 x xfx 4770. Why I have so many is anybodys guess lol ;)
