That's the great thing about South Park. The writers tend to incorporate extremely recent topics into the new episodes. And yeah, guess it makes it easier when the show does have very crude animation. That, and barring the fact that I haven't seen any of the episodes this season, which means tonight's, there is the possibility that some of it is made a few days or even a week before, and just the things that deal precisely with the topic are done at the last minute. Maybe not, as like I said, didn't see it tonight.
Then again, they probably planned and banked on Obama winning, and made special efforts to just do it extremely last minute so they could cover the election.

they eaisily could have had an ep for either canidate winning and just aired the correct one, the show is stupidily easy to animate from what i understand they use some really powerfull comps and such to make it look crappy

I heard one of them say that with the software they have it's like using bulldozers to build sand castles. Which actually sounds pretty hard, but the point is they've got way more power for the job than they need.

Eh, theres a difference i think. I dont really care if the jokes are crude as long as its making fun of inane topics or just people being stupid. But making light of someone's real tragedy is kind of going a bit too far. Plus it wasn't even funny

Weak episode. They probably made it a week or two ago, then made up the few shots where they made reference to Obama winning. Even then it was barely funny.

Most of it was weak but watching Randy was the funniest part of the episode. Reminded me of "Hey BatDad, I didn't hear no bell" in the episode where the boys purposely try to lose in baseball but end up making it to the championship game.

I think Randy, as a caricature, is the funniest one on the show. 'The Losing Edge', this new one, the one with Bono, the one with the change zombies....
