iron pipe wielding KCTU members used slingshots to fire nuts and bolts and hurled hundreds of petrol bombs at police in the capital's center

makes those albertson strikers seem tame even when they get in your face.
this is the same government that protected tech workers by bailing out Hynix indefinetly, despite that it should have been very very bankrupt (then all your RAM would belong to Micron)

The Koreans just like to get unruly - I can remember, as a child in the 70's, watching
newscasts of Koreans throwing moltav cocktails - don't remember why.
Just don't buy a Korean car! You'll never gets parts!

In Korea they track the extent of civil unrest by the number of Molotov cocktails per year. It had gone down in recent years and in 2001 and 2002 there were no Molotov cocktails at all. Suddenly they have returned so this is a bad sign.

Massive riots with high levels of violence are a SK staple. Used to have them every spring (student riots).

The walkout was in protest against laws allowing companies to seize wages or assets from workers as well as sue over illegal protests.

An example of out of control capitalism.
