Thats sad kuk, but the real hit will happen if/when ppl drink polluted water. It may seem odd but having safe drinking water after a major storm is a must. This is particularly true in the less developed parts of the world, dysentery and
iirc, cholera can run wild.
As the rain forest continues to disappear, that will only add to changes in the weather patterns of your portion of the southern hemisphere. I read once, that 20% of all the worlds fresh water is the Amazon River as it flows into the Atlantic. That's one major ecological system. I did say add, the real blame is in the burning of fossil fuels.
BTW, nice pics, the limbs coming out of frame in Rio Grande is a nice touch.
