South American beer

So I was at this get together last night and some guy brought in these herbs and said he was going to boil some "South American Beer".

Well he put a couple herbs in a pot with some hot water and let it boil for awhile...then we chilled it and drank it. Well everyone else drank a little and I drank a lot. This stuff has no alcohol in it, but it does other stuff I guess. So after about 30 minutes I started to feel really wierd and starting getting really dizzy and puking. Then I tried to lay down and sleep and I had all of these really wierd hallucinations coupled with a really cold sweat and I kept waking up and jumping and shaking...

Well I drove home at 5 this morning (no school today) and have been sick most of the morning...but now I'm feeling a little better. I didn't talk to anybody since last night.

CLIFFS

-Guy makes what he called South American Beer
-We drink a little..I drink a lot (cause he told me I should drink more)
-I get sick and hallucinate/shake/break out in cold sweat
-I drive home and I'm still sick for awhile

What the hell did this guy give me? It wasn't opium or marijuana or anything like that...they were ACTUAL legal herbs and were even labeled on the bag and everything.

UPDATE: Just found out everyone else wound up puking too!

You didn't read the names? The thing I was thinking of at first was Coca Tea, which I've had before in SA, but I'm thinking that's not what he had. It was probably just some bullsh!t that you overreacted to. It is possible that it was some type of hallucinogen, but as to what I am not sure. Paging tweakmm... paging tweakmm. 🙂

I remember seeing one of the herbs labelled something like "Yellow Caapiri" or something like that...

Probably some kind of "fake" type herbal tea that is *supposed* to get your high. He probably got it from a headshop or off the net. The big question is why the hell would you drink something when you didn't know what it was? I mean WTF?

Because he drank it too and I've known him for a few years. That sounds like what it was...some fake tea to get you high...it was definitley some kind of high...we all felt it, especially me. Things were like jumping out at me and I couldn't tell my dreams from reality when I'd wake up...I felt like I was racing toward everything. I have a weak stomach so all of this made me sick lol.

there are native cultures around the world that have for thousands of years brewed halucinogenic drinks that often make you puke.
