We could only be so lucky to have Intel dumping inventory into the channel, that would push prices down and make upgrading all the less expensive.

I don't get the motivation of the people who act like this is a bad thing. I mean sure it is probably not good if you are an INTC shareholder, or possible an Intel employee who worries about job security, but for the rest of us consumers over-supply is a godsend for pricing.

Look at the dram and ssd markets, we wait for chip gluts and over-supply because it makes prices fall like mad. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing a cycle or two like that happening in the CPU circles.
