A counterterrorism expert on the news just said, "Mohammed is unlikely to be extradited to the United States for some time, which will allow more extreme methods of interrogation. He is currently in an undisclosed location."

10-1 the Israelis are using a pair of channel locks on his nuts right now.

They also said that this guy may know where Bin Laden has been in the last 24-36 hours, if he's still alive. If Osama is alive and kicking, I bet we get him in the next month. This capture is huge.

Unfortunately, I don't believe we will catch Bin Laden because of this. If we know about the arrest, then he does too, and I am sure he always has at least 3 places to retreat to that no one knows about. I know I would, and I am not in the "business". I am not sure about your reference to Israelis. The Pakistanis have experts in torture though. Been done there on a regular basis. Regardless, this is great news in and of itself.

Thank you for being a voice against becoming what this man is. People ought to at least try to resist being what they profess to hate. Torture is wrong, end of story.

They say he left Pakistan to an "undisclosed third country." Israel has handled interrogations of other Al Qaeda personnel for is, so it was a natural assumption on my part.

As you sit here saying "saddam heusein tortures his own people, we need to free them and show them the same freedom that we're given as americans!", you conviently ignore the principals of the 6th and 8th amendments to the United States Constitution.

Mohammed isn't a US citizen and as such has no right to any of our freedoms. He's also been the driving force behind multiple terrorist attacks that have killed thousands of Americans. But yeah, I guess you're right, we should put him up with three hots and a cot, cable TV, and a free lawyer like we do all our other criminals.

I suppose you don't think tourists from other countries have the right to freedom from unreasonable search and seizure, either?
Maybe someone comes to visit the USA from Britain, and they're suspected of shoplifting while here... I suppose we can hold them indefinitely without trial, right? I mean, they're not US citizens.

No, I'm saying that the Bill of Rights applies only to US citizens - Article 14, Section 1.

"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

The U.S. government exists to benefit and protect its citizens first, and others second.
