Why is it that the soundtracks for movies and games cost about the same as the movie or game? A typical movie soundtrack costs about $18 now. The movie runs about $25. Typical game soundtrack: $34. Typical game: $40. Now, one would think that the movie would've paid for all of the development costs and the music would be essentially "free money". But why so much?
