Hello all -
Just installed fedora core 3, got the linksys wireless card working (which was a bitch and a half) and now i'm attempting to get the correct drivers installed for the sound. I have an Asus A87NX-E Deluxe board, and i've tried using the installer on the nvidia website and now when you go into "soundcard detection" there are two devices that show up.
The only one that works is
"nVidia corporation nForce2 AC97 Audio Controller (MCP)"
using module snd-intel8x0
when i try to play a test sound for the other
"nVidia Corporation nForce Multimedia audio [Via VT82C686B]"
using module: nvsound
I dont get any sound coming out, and running nvmixer and looking under the "information" tab its all blank. The installer did have to recompile the kernel though since i have a modified one for the linksys card, could that not have worked correctly somehow?
I've searched the web for solutions and cant find anything and the sound from the driver linux installed sounds kinda flat, not to mention i'd love put my MCP-T to use. Can anyone give me any help on this or point me in the right direction?
sorry to sound like an ubernoob, but the only way to learn is by asking questions =D
Thanks!
