Thanks largely in part to Chris Cornell :) Does anyone still listen to their songs? Some of their stuff is pretty dated and you can tell is straight out of the early-mid 90's, but they have plenty of songs that still sound unique and fresh until this day.

Yep. I was listening to Superunknown the other day. If you like Chris Cornell, check out Temple of the Dog if you haven't already.

Yup. They were a freaking amazing band. I had the pleasure of seeing them in a very small (like 200 people) club on the Badmotorfinger tour before they really became a household name. Even got to have dinner with them beforehand. Go me. :p

I still listen to their stuff occasionally. I remember buying the cassette for Superunknown in the mid-90's, I played the crap out of that tape. :D

Well I got the Audioslave CD about a month after it came out - loved it
I've heard "Hunger Strike" plenty of times and love it, I want to get the Temple of the Dog CD and give it a listen :)

Yeah I first heard "Rusty Cage" when I was younger and liked them from that point. I haven't *really* listened to them until about a year ago though :)

My first exposure to them was a buddy of mine cranking "Hands All Over". Still one of their best songs IMHO.

Tidbit: At the show I mentioned above, they were playing Pearl Jam's first album over the PA in between sets back when no one outside of the NW knew who the hell they were.

I still have mine, but the titles on both sides of the tape are completely worn off! That and Deftones - Adrenalize are the best 2 albums ever

Badmotorfinger was one of the best Rock/Grunge albums to come out in the last 20 years IMHO.

I still listen to it regularly.

Rusty Cage
Outshined
Searching With My Good Eye Closed
Drawing Flies
Holy Water

All just ass kicking songs.

Great stuff, and Cornell's solo CD was great as well (and a nice change to slower, more melodic songs).

I got Down on the Upside on eBay for 99 cents, can't beat that with a stick :) I still like Superunknown better, but still a good album. I will definitely get Badmotorfinger very soon :)

<--- listening to 4th of July right now, drab but awesome song

Soundgarden was definitely a good band. I like Audioslave a little better, though, because I always liked Rage more than Soundgarden.

Soundgarden was an incredible band. They're in a three way tie with AIC and Metallica for my favorite band of all time. I actually listened to most of Louder Than Love on my iPod today at work. Full on Kevin's Mom :) I miss the good old days :(

Oh, and as someone mentioned you defenitely need to pick up Temple Of The Dog's disc. Easily as good as any Soundgarden album and that's saying quite a bit.

Also, those of you into Cornell need to get his solo album, Euphoria Morning. Very different from Soundgarden but still very very good. It sucks to see him in Audioslave. I wish he'd do another solo album. Sadly, his voice seems to have gone downhill a fair bit so I doubt it would be as good.

Come on back late 80's-mid 90's. Save us from this current musical hell :(
