hey all. I have an aureal based sound card, so I need to get a new one for XP when it comes out. I also have an Abit KT7-RAID, with the 686A southbridge.... Is this one of the motherboards that has problems with Live! based cards? And if so, what options for soundcards do I have if I dont want to spend more than 50 bucks.....

Thanks.

you may happy to know tha txp happens to suport your aureal card. You may want to research this, but I am 90% sure it does.

Unfortunatly, yes it is supposed to... I popped my Turtle Beach Monteago II Plus into my brand spakin' new box, and it was a no go...

I downloaded the last Aureal set of windows 2000 Betas...and they also dident work.....nor did the NT 4's... :(

So, now that we KNOW that XP wont work, at least for me..... What options do I have?

Thanks

I just found the " Philips Rhythmic Edge" sound card at best buy for under 30 bucks..... Does anyone know if this is a good card, or if it will work under 2000/XP???

Thanks.

FWIW, I had no problem with my Vortex2-based Diamond MX-300. Sure, I don't think all the features of the chip were supported, but the sound worked at a minimum in XP.

I happened to snag a Santa Cruz for my new system anyway (giving away the box with the MX-300). The latest drivers from Turtle Beach have me pumping in XP as well.
