The built in audio is pretty good for starters. ◾7.1 CH HD Audio with Content Protection (Realtek ALC892 Audio Codec) That board has PCIE sloys. Understand your Wolfson needs PCI. You may have to replace it with one that connects to 3.5mm audio port.

I use the smsl unit and it sounds fantastic. Matched with a set of good headphones (not headset) and the results will surprise you.

Onboard will work just fine with those headphones. Those arent hard to drive so no amp needed. And unless you hear noise or static using the motherboard than you dont need a dedicated sound card. Onboard audio has come a long way in the last 5 years
