I think my card is capable of this. Tried downloading the manual from Creative but it comes up blank.

The back of my card has 6 jacks. Headphone, Mic, L & R RCA outs and on the bottom a white and red glowing optical in and out jacks. These last 2 jacks are round though like RCA and not like the square/rounded toslink cable I have.

Anyone know what kind of adapter I need for the card?

For some reason when I hooked this up to my stereo receiver via the 2 RCA jacks it's putting out major static.

Thanks for the help!

By default, Win7 and newer (not sure if it affects vista) you have to right click on the .chm file and click the unblock.
Now it should open and be readable.

From what I can see is in the manual, the bottom two jacks are optical/analog combos.
you many need this https://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=104&cp_id=10423&cs_id=1042301&p_id=2671&seq=1&format=2 to connect to the bottom jack for optical out

Thanks!

I've been looking for an adapter that would around the jack like an RCA. I wasn't expecting something that would plug into it like a headphone jack.

You would be surprised how may mid range and high end laptops support the mini toslink in their headphone jacks, too, despite never advertising it.
