Soundblaster X-Fi Platinum Remote Control not working?

Please someone enlighten me whether I have a defective remote or faceplate or even the card itself. It did work at one point then froze up my pc. Since then had new drivers updated and it now stops working. Is SB tech suport any good too?

PS Not that I do care the remote works or not but since I just bought this @CC so I need to know there is something wrong with it already or it is just another buggy product from Creative Labs.

No, nothing is wrong. it's the crappy drivers. When I first got it the remote didn't work either, then after doing a clean install of windows latter that month and updating the drivers it works just fine.
