Soundblaster Win2k drivers

Hello all,

Upgraded to Win2k last night and I'm annoyed by the latest SB drivers... I now have static in most of my MP3s and the bass that was present in Win98 is no longer there, even when it's cranked to the max. Anyone else having similar problems? I've got the latest LiveWare drivers installed...

Thanks!

Dave

Hey! I have the exact same problem! It seems it's only mp3s and other sounds... because it doesn't happen when I play cds through my sound card.

Also, in the device manager... it seems that i can't find drivers for my game port... you too?

Trevelyan: Yeah, I don't see my gameport listed either. When I booted the machine this morning, I got two bluescreens, one for my Matrox G400 and the other for the EMU10K.sys file... I reverted back to the WDM drivers for now and everything seems to work reasonably well. I ran the Liveware 3.0 install but just installed the audio drivers and none of the extra stuff...

Got my bass back! Turns out I had Headphones selected instead of 2 speaker mode in the Creative mixer... really odd that it sounds worse considering I actually DO have headphones... 🙂 The static is mostly gone too, now that I installed SP1. Hopefully it'll stay this way... 🙂

I assume you all are installing a SoundBlaster Live card. If so, then DeepBlue is correct. Just install the card and let win2k do its thing. Then download, if you haven't already, the 3 files for Liveware 3.0 for win2000. Run the executable and install the drivers. This card works great on my system, no popping or static.
