Soundblaster Problems with Seti

Just restarted Seti recently. And incidentally found out what prompted me to stop it in the first place.

With Seti running, I get a crackling sound at regular intervals when playing MP3s. 🙁

It happens on mine too. You can watch it as the processing goes on and see when you get the static. Don't feel bad, I usually turn off my SETI client when I want to hear it crystal clear. (Don't tell anyone else that!! 😀)

That is strange. I haven't had any problems with my soundblaster while running seti. Not sure how to fix the problem but I thought I would throw in the info...

What is the version of your driver Wolfie? Maybe we can compare and see if you have a newer file. :Q 😉

The card I have is a Creative Labs Soundblaster 128D (PCI) if that helps. I ripped it out of a POS Gateway PC, so I can even get you the stock number too.

Is it an OS, driver, or specific card problem? I've got Windows XP and SoundBlaster Audigy here. No static.

My little brother has a similar problem but only whilst playing midi files!😕
Mp3's aren't a problem

My fathers PC doesn't have any problems either

Have you got the latest sound card & chipset drivers?

Not sure if this is what you are looking for. This is for a SB live! PCI card. According to my hardware profiles of the card, the date is 11/18/1999 also. Maybe this helps. Maybe it won't. I guess the best thing is to download the latest drivers for the card... That's the only thing I can recomend.
