Soundblaster Platinum 5.1 (Digital Audio Input?????) Help

Hi,

I'm considering buying a SoundBlaster Platinum 5.1.
I have Sony DAV-S300 DVD Player w/ surround speakers.
My sony has a "Optical digital audio input for Digital Satellite System"

Is the output Digital DIN from Creatives Optical Digital I/O card
meant to be connected there? Would I be able to output the audio
to my Sony DAV-S300 DVD Player?
