Anyone know if these two will work together? I checked the microsoft site, and it does not list that sound card under the list of cards that would work.. but there are a lot of similiar model numbers... and maybe it does work?!

Anyone know? It'd be nice to run win2k and not have to shell out $100 for a new sound card.

I am using Win 2k with a SB128 PCI on my server and it works just fine. Creative even has Win 2k drivers for it that give it a nicer control panel and the creative utilities in 2k. It used to be in my main system also with 2k and ran great there also but was replaced with an SB Live. Win 2k will detect it and set it up but I think you will like the Creative control panel better. The Creative drivers for 2k are somewhere on their site.

Creative have recently changed the rev of the sound chip for PCI128, although still using the same Model Name: CT4810.

I ran one with chip CT2518 in W2K without any problems.

When Creative changed to the newer, CT5880, W2K didn't recognize it anymore and drivers were needed.

You'll have to down all the libs for the exe to run properly.

Figuring out which drivers are the latest and correct ones is a real pain in the ass when it comes to Creative's sites. They have alot of different driver sites with different contents.

Here are two links I think will help you out:

Supportsite Europe

Supportsite America

Good luck!
